About Me

Get to know me!

Hi, I'm Brittie

Preschool Owner, Business Consultant, Coach

I am the CEO of World City Center (WCC), a dual-immersion preschool and enrichment center in the heart of West Adams in South LA.  I started my career when I opened Tiny Sprouts, an in-home family childcare business, and grew my business to a multiple 6 figure business in 15 years.

My education philosophy is that young children learn best through play and developmentally appropriate activities and experiences and that the best time to start learning a second language is the preschool years.  In my practice, I strive to implement best practices and utilize research to develop a curriculum and environment that nurtures that capability.  Years in corporate America provided a background in account management, sales, and marketing, which gave me extensive understanding and the ability to implement business marketing, process and procedure development, client relation strategies, and strategies for building a formidable business model.   However, knowledge of business practices is only part of the successful childcare business equation.  Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice, brain development research, and constructivist theories are essential in developing a quality preschool program that nurtures the whole child.  So, after five years of successful operation of Tiny Sprouts, I decided to broaden my knowledge of the field by obtaining my Master of Art in Early Childhood Education from Pacific Oaks College, a nonprofit, accredited high education institution dedicated to its founding fundamental principles of inclusion, social justice, anti-bias, and culturally relevant education.  After receiving my Master of Arts, I made opening a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool in the West Adams area of Los Angeles my goal.  The realization of that goal gave birth to World City Center (WCC) Preschool.

WCC opened in the Fall of 2014 as a dual-language preschool in the West Adams area of Los Angeles, California. WCC offers a hands-on approach to learning that addresses the whole child while encouraging curiosity and wonder, leading to a lifelong love of learning. WCC is play-based and presents many opportunities for cross-cultural exploration, anti-bias education, and social-emotional development.  WCC follows a 90/10 Spanish immersion model where 90% of the time, teachers speak to the children in the target language, and 10% of the time, they support them with English as needed. This creates the immersive experience that is crucial for second language acquisition.

Fifteen years has taught me a lot of hard lessons along the way.  Let me use my 15 years of experience in the childcare industry to help you start or grow your 6-figure home daycare or preschool business.  I’ll help you avoid the pitfalls and mistakes learned from and help you to create the business you’ve always wanted.

My Journey

Many Twist & Turns

Before embarking on my journey into early education, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and worked as an account manager in the computer industry for 11 years and then in the entertainment industry for two years.  My extensive career in the computer industry included positions at Intel, Kingston Technology, and Micros.

My business degree and experience in corporate America prepared me for running a business.  The experience I’ve gained over the last 15 years as a home daycare and preschool owner-operator prepared me to help others start or level up their business.

Let me help you start your business, make it better or release you from the day to day grind of your business and start living your best life.
